African Rift Lake Aquarium

This grant funded a large, common area aquarium at LS. Aquariums have been shown to reduce stress, enhance memory retention and improve self-esteem, attributes that lay the foundation of every child’s learning experience. Students in the aquarium club and aquatic science classes had/ have the opportunity to research, problem solve and develop a passion for aquatic science. Special Education students had/will have weekly or daily opportunity to feed, learn about and spend time with the fish.
